High Spirits by David Pritchard It is high summer in 1940 and the Battle of Britain rages on. St North Weald the fighter pilots of 249 Gold Coast Squadron enjoy a well earned breather whilst their battle scarred Hurricanes are refueled and re armed ready for the next scramble which is surely to come. Meanwhile overhead, the sound of Merlin engines heralds the welcome return of two pilots in high spirits after successful interception sortie of a lone enemy raider. |
