HMS Ocean by Ivan Berryman (PC)

HMS Ocean is the sixth ship to bear this famous name and is ably equipped with 12 Sea King HC Mk4s, 4 Landing Craft, 2 Griffon Hovercraft, plus enough equipment necessary to provide support for a Commando battlaion of over 800 Royal Marines. She is depicted here in company with HMS Chatham, flying off Royal Marines from 42 Commando during operations off Sierra Leone.

Ships of the Falklands Task Force formate following the Argentine surrender in 1982. Nearest is Leander class frigate HMS Andromeda with RFA Brambleleaf in her wake. The Type 22 frigate HMS Brilliant is to the left of the picture, with the carrier HMS Invincible dominating the right. HMS Hermes and her escorts are in the extreme distance.

HMS Triumph by Ivan Berryman. (PC)

Built in Barrow-in-Furness and the 7th and last of the Trafalgar class of British submarines, HMS Triumph is one of the most modern and potent vessels of her kind. Selected in March 2011 to take part in the coalition suppression of Colonel Gadaffi's attacks against his own people, HMS Triumph fired a number of TLAMs (Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles) aimed at air defence targets on the Libyan mainland at the outset of coalition operations, helping to reduce the threat of air attacks by the Libyan Air Force.

Launched on 1st July 1981, the SSN Fleet Submarine HMS Trafalgar (S107) entered service with the Royal Navy in May 1983 and enjoyed an active career until her retirement at the end of 2009 at her home base of HMNB Devonport, Plymouth.

RMS Mauretania II by Ivan Berryman. (PC)

Still wearing her wartime grey paint scheme, but with her funnels newly restored to the Cunard Line’s red and black livery, a slightly war-weary RMS Mauretania II is gently manoeuvred into Liverpool Docks in 1946 after an Atlantic crossing from Halifax. The tug Aysgarth is preparing to assist with final docking.


HMS Fearless by Ivan Berryman (PC)

Ships of the South Atlantic Task Force gather in San Carlos water during the Falklands Campaign of 1982. LCMs from HMS Fearless (L10) manoeuvre around their mother ship, with the logistic Ship RFA Sir Galahad (L3005) and the frigate HMS Argonaut (F56) in close attendance.

HMS Orpheus was an Oberon-class submarine and in 1964 HMS Orpheus joined the 3rd Submarine Flotilla based at Faslane, picture here in the Clyde estuary heading for the open sea on patrol.


HMS Bulwark at Hong Kong by Ivan Berryman (PC)

Shown here flying of Wessex HU MK5s of No. 846 Squadron A veteran of the Suez crisis during which time she operated of Grumman Avengers and sea hawks, HMS Bulwark was reduced to training status during 1957. but re emerged as a Commando carrier. Further modifications in late 1970 saw her refitted as a full ASW carrier in which guise she served until the introduction in 1980 of HMS Invincible.
